Hey guys... new to forum. I would like to know if anyone else has lifted their tanks and how they did theirs. Need some ideas. I am riding an 02 Dyna lowrider with stock tank. Thinking of raising it 2-2 1/2". some ideas would be appreciated

If I remember correctly, I believe Max lifted his tank on his bike prior to the Road Glide. A Heritage I think. He bought a kit for the lifting.

is it just a cosmetic change?

or does the increased airflow help the engine temp or something?

Both. Mostly for looks.Makes it easier to get to the top of the engine for cleaning etc.

I lifted my tank 2" to eliminate the space between the top of the tank and the top of my 8" riser chubby drags...looks much better. I don't know how much it helps the cooling, but I'm sure it has to help somewhat.

I ended up having to completely pull my tank to get everything the way I wanted it (wires tucked under/tied off good, frame gasket adjusted, etc.)...and on my '06 softail, I needed a longer crossover line under the tanks, which was included with the kit I bought (eBay...I can't remember exactly how much, but I'm sure it was under $30)
