have a 2009 fat boy, thinkin bout takin the oil tank off an getting it painted, how big of a job is it to get this thing off, and Id like to get a used one rather than try and get my chrome one painted. any suggestions on where to get a used one preferably not chrome. thanks guys.

Remove your seat and battery and you'll see the bolts that you need to remove to pull the tank off.

As far as a replacement you can try JP Cycles.
