Looking at picking up a Road King, and have read that the frame change in 09 resulted in a much better ride. Have also heard quite a few people say that's a load of shit.

What's your take on it?

Thanks.

I ride an 08 RK and have ridden friends 09 and above. Don't notice much difference. Some though.

I have a 09. To me, it tracks like it's on rails. I like it. I don't have an older touring model to compare it to.

I'd swap my '04 Road King for another '65 Pan in a heartbeat.

Have any pics of your first one to post? Big fan of old Pans.

I've ridden both. Didn't notice much of a difference at all. I imagine the differences manifest themselves more as you push the bike harder. The only time I've ever noticed any chassis flex in my pre 09 touring bikes is when I'm pushing really unsafe speeds in sweeping curves. Obviously, I'm not so free to get reckless on my friends' post 09 bikes.

The bottom line is if you get pretty much any HD post 2002 you're getting a great machine that can bring you lots of miles of enjoyment. My 05 Roadglide has about 80k on it and my 01 Electraglide had 57k when I sold it.
