For the past seven years I try to make the run across the Cherohala Skyway with my friend Bo, and anyone else that wants to go. We always schedule it for the last Saturday in April and this year is no different. We will meet at the QT at the intersection of Highway 278 @ Highway 61 in Dallas, Ga. at 9:00 A.M. Anyone interested in riding along meet us there. The route from Dallas will be 61 to Cartersville to 411 to 64 in Tennessee to 68 at Ducktown, Tenn. to the Cherohala at Tellico Plains, Tenn. Anybody that would like to joins us along the way shoot me an Email where you will be at Bamsambo@Bellsouth.net. Below is a link to the Cherohala. It is a nice ride. This will be about a 380 mile ride from Dallas and back so be prepared to be out for the day.

as my birthday is April 28, my wife and kids decided we should get together with family at the daughters house next weekend. Probably be rude to blow off my own family for my (their?) own party.

Since Kartsman is back in the saddle again, maybe we could plan to make it up his way in the fall, when the leaves are turning. My wife and I make that ride sometimes, and maybe Fred's wife can come along to keep Cynthia company.

Hope you guys have a good ride. I'm sure you will.

I think they're talking about the storms and tornadoes of day before yesterday. I think some bad weather did also come through near there. Gallows humor, perhaps.

so, karstman, what did you do with the Fatboy? And, did you keep the Reliance place, or sell it as you planned to. Since this is becoming an official questionaire (sp?), did the old restaurant across from the watchman's cabin ever sell?

I sold the Fatboy in 2008. We sold the house in the city, kept the Reliance place and moved back out here. Rose's restaurant is still for sale, but I think he is asking too much for it.

har har. Thanks man, but I don't think I'm cut for running a restaurant. I was just curious as to whether that property had ever sold.

I did try to get my wife to open up a meat and 3 diner back in the mid to late 80s, but she wasn't about it.

That's the one Dot. It was pretty good. Nothing to make you want to smack you momma, but pretty good. Could have been the company and/or drinking the night before that made it so good. :)
