RE: My new/old '04' Sportster.... In my conversation with former owner he mentioned he added the Python slip-on's and a hi-flo air filter. I asked him if he rejetted the carb, no was the answer. He had been running it without the baffles, my thought was, a lean burn carb gets leaner. But the bike ran and idled so well, I wasn't concerned.

I want to keep the low down grunt in the torque curve and I'm resisting the idea of rejetting. If I put the baffles back in will this move me cool/fuel wise, to a margin of safety ?

What color are your plugs? You can tell how she's burning. Usually need to stage 1 if you open the pipes up from stock. Rejetting is part of that along with more air in. But the plugs will tell you.

We put full Python I exhaust on wife's '95 Sport. Ran it for about 3 months then checked the plugs. Both were a rich brown color, bike ran great, so we left well enough alone. She absolutely loved the LOUD exhaust. I had the same exhaust on my Springer and Dyna. Unfortunately V & H bought Python, and the sound was never the same. Keep an eye on the tail pipe color and spark plugs. Good Luck!

My Bike is covered and tied down in the back of my truck, so limited visibility... yup, familiar with reading plugs, thanks will do...

Roger that on the roar of my baffle-out Pythons...SAY WHAT ? For the last two years, I've been too busy with the Ex-BS to ride or shoot anything...Just when my neighbors thought the streets were safe....
