I've not spent much time in that sort of saddle since I was a kid. Enough, though to say OW!!! after about 20 miles!

Pretty cool anyways!

That is a Tex Tan Roper Saddle, I have one just like that I ride with (on a horse that is). I thought my stock Sportster seat is bad, I can't imagine being in that all day!

That 700 miles would have been rough with that saddle Jimmy. Shoot it was a little tiring anyway.

The difference would be that you could bear some of the wieght in the stirrups and occasionaly stand and stretch in the saddle between breaks. I don't think you could do that on a bike and also the vibration would be a factor. I can ride all day on the horse or the bike and I'll be a little sore the next day, but in different places.
