I've have had the HD detachable Tour-Pak for a little over 30k. I just replaced the hard rubber mounting connections for the 3rd time. After 10k or so, they become "wallowed out" so bad that the Tour-Pak moves as much as an inch on any kind of bump in the pavement. I have been using cable ties to strap the mounting down, but this has a bit of a "ghetto look" and doesn't completely stop the wearing process. Anybody know of a more permanent fix?

If you didn't throw your old ones away would you mind sending them to TN? I need to build a tour pack rack and hate to buy new ones to do that with since it won't matter if they are loose.

Also, why don't you just go to a non-detachable setup? or are you saying they were out even when you just put it on to use?

Well, hopefully you won't have to replace them again.

BTW, I meant "wear out" not "were out", wondering if you just left it on all the time or if you actually did detach it when not in use.

If I can find the urethane ones somewhere, these will probably get replaced fairly soon. My replacement history has been about once every 18 months. The Tour-Pak stays on about 9 months out of the year. I take it off during the cold part of the winter when we're not making any long trips. The bike looks better without it.

I've been thinking about that detachable kit for my Ultra but it sounds like it's problematic with the bushing problem. Any other places sell a detach kit for the Ultra tourpack that may be better?
