Just bought a 2005 Ultra Classic that is missing the tour pack but still has the mount. I'd like to remove that thing and mount a sissy bar with a back pad for mama. It looks to be a cluster to get it off. I am totally new to Harley's so please be patient with me. I am thinking I will have to remove the bags to get at the bolts.

I dunno. Since you don't have the tour pack, I searched for parts that fit an electraglide standard.

Part Number 52723-06A might fit.

Welcome to HST....

That's doable....

There's a member (06Ultra) on here that stripped his Ultra Down so he'll know exactly how to do what you're trying.... I'm sure he'll chime in once he sees this thread....

I also think BC is on the right track too... If you search for parts for a E-Glide standard you'll find everything you need... Of course everything is sold separately... Backrest, Pad, Side Plates....

Yeah, that was just the backrest. You gotta pick out which pad you want. And you gotta decide if you want quick disconnect or not.

I finally got the rack off. Scraped some knuckles getting the T-40's off. The OL brought home a nice bar with a pad and gold eagle on the back from a guy at her work off a '95 Fat Boy. Says it's mine if I can make it work. It has same look as the one Blackcloud posted for attaching but I don't know how I can make it work???

Well I figured out I need docking hardware but I might have the kiss of death. Looking for hardware I can't find any for FLHTCUI which mine is.

Look at Street Glide stuff, basically the same as an Electra Glide Standard, just lowered. Son has a removable backrest for his wife.

Jesus this was a PITA to figure out. HD says none of their docking gear will work with my model. After doing exhaustive research until about 3 this morning I found out part # 53803-06 will work but Harley says it won't because of the wiring from the tour pak being in the way. I don't have that problem since the pak and wiring is already gone.So I found the kit for a fraction of what HD wanted on ebay so I should be good to go. I really hope I can use that sissy bar with the eagle on it. He only wants 50 bucks for it plus it's fucking cool as hell. Thanks for the help guys.

I haven't figured out how to install the docking gear. I don't ever want the tour pack so I ordered what I thought I needed. WRONG!!!! I need 53803-06 too. Luckily I found that for 28 bucks on ebay.So now I wait for that. I did some research on several HD sites about it because the instructions suck (I am quite comfortable reading aircraft blueprints) and a lot of guys say it can take a whole day to install it right sometimes taking 3-4 times and that you can even mess up the alignment of the fender ???? What???

Might take a couple hours if you're careful and deliberate, but shouldn't be that difficult. If you screwing up the fender alignment, you're doing something wrong.
