...on the St Louie Huey ride bit the bullet. Won't hold a charge. That was in 2008, so to get almost 8 years out of it is pretty good. Found one on Amazon I'm gonna give a chance. 30 AH/600 CCA, $120 delivered.

Amazon Battery Link.

I just had battery issues on my bobber. Bike was really dragging on start up so I took the battery in and had it tested. Tested fine so I spent 2 weeks and a different starter trying to figure out why it was dragging. Took the battery back out and had it tested at a different store and this time it tested bad. Bought a new battery, stuck it in and it starts fine now.. That sucks...

ultimately I think the heat is harder on batteries than the cold ...

lead acid battery standard rating temp is at about 77*F (25*C).....heat dries out the electrolyte and permanently shortens the life.....cold slows the chemical reaction and reduces capacity until it warms....

also, to prevent self-discharge and perserve battery life, the battery needs to be kept at full charge when not in use by floating on a battery maintainer (like a battery tender)

The battery in the '09 Trike lasted 3 years. Her '11 trike had the original battery when we traded it for the '14. The replacement battery in the '09 lasted until we
traded that scoot for the '15. I change the Seadoo batteries at 3 years, don't want to get stuck in the middle of nowhere.

Mo had a DieHard that ran a good 8 years. And, that was back when we put tons of miles on a year. (20,000) Wish they all did.
