I just recently purchased a 2006 Dyna Street Bob (my first bike). It still has the stock exhaust system on it and I am going to replace it. I am not planning on doing any major engine work just yet. I have decided to go with Thunderheader 2:1 system. I was also told that I need a power commander because of the fuel injection. Is a power commander 100% necessary? Would there be any harm done to the bike if it was not done at exactly the same time as the pipes? I am new at this and am hearing a lot of conflicting stories.... Any help is greatly appreciated.

Power Commander is not necessary. If it was, it would have come that way.
General rule: change of pipes, no problem. Change of intake, no problem. Change of both, you need your ECM flashed to accommodate the change in air flow.
Any specific reason why you want to change the pipes?

Thanks a lot for the insight... I am looking to make it louder.
