I thought this probably needs to be in the right area of the forum and consolidate the threads so we are all on the same page.

Peeps in for sure on bikes with passenger:

1. Marky and Michelle
2. Phildo
3. Spurrs
4. Ernie (friend of Spurrs)
5. Huey and Kietha
6. Fgowi
7. Consuela
8. SeaHag and Sarah
9. Buck (maybe Dot, hope - fingers crossed - hope)
10. Sammy
11. Nightrider
12. Adli (Nightrider's brother)
13. Badco

Maybes:

14. Big Ty? Flying into KC or St. Louis or London?
15. Sick Puppy? We GOTS to have some spiritual guidance from our Honorary Midwestener!
16. Bueller? . . . Bueller? . . . Bueller? . . .

Rough Schedule:

May 22: Nightrider, Adli, SeaHag and Sarah ride to Marky's for the night.

May 23 Nightrider, Adli, SeaHag, Sarah, Phildo, Marky and Michelle ride to St. Joseph, MO to meet up with Spurrs, Ernie and on to Huey's in St. Louis. Sammy and ? (Sick, anyone else?) to Huey's that day.

Do we need to book rooms by Huey's? That's about 10 people to Huey's place. We know Sammy and Michelle are sharing a room at Huey's, but what about the rest? Jeff - let us know who needs to book a hotel if needed and where.

May 24: The above leave Huey's for a meandering Mississippi and Illinois River ride to Fgowi & the Princess's abode by scenic Peoria, IL. Sean meets us there, too. Consuela - please let us know who needs to book a room and where.

May 25: Ride from Fgowi's on a back roads trek to Poopy's in Savanna, IL and onto Galena.

Are we staying the night in Galena/Dubuque or onto WI that day. Rooms ARE required and where?

Rooms in WI . . . what night(s) and where at ???

Let's flesh it out from here. If you make changes/amendments/corrections to above, please cut and paste from the above and add to the thread.

Thoughts?

I'd vote for overnights in/near Galena AND Prairie du Chen. But, I'm joining this thing late, so to speak. I"m wanting to party with y'all as much as possible. I already know none of ya' can ride! (IMG:http://www.harleyshoptalk.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif) (IMG:http://www.harleyshoptalk.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/hysterical.gif)

"T" and I will work up an inventory and get it posted asap. That many will be tight. I'm thinking about asking a couple neighbors for a bedroom. Invite them to the party that night. Like Ty did in Cali. That worked just fine. We'll have to talk that over for sure.

Can't wait. Thanks for consolidating.

I just talked to Michelle and she said you have a tummy tuck procedure or something scheduled on that Saturday?

WTF, dude!

No big problem, my friend. We will just continue on to WI without you. Michelle can just ride on with Sammy . . .

We think Angela is coming so that's 5 couples, which we can fit in the house with all the privacy an open beam log cabin provides! We have 3 beds, a futon and 2 queen air mattresses for the house. And 2 full bathrooms in the house.

We haven't heard when Buck is joining the tour but including him there's 9 single men. And I think a buddy from work will be joining us.
We can fit 6 full size air mattresses in the shop (could sqeeeeeeze in 7). The shop also has a full bath with unlimited hot water.
Bruce feels obligated to attach my sketch of the shop so you'll know just how tight a fit it is!

Then there's the living room, basement (don't get thrilled about the basement, it's a wood shop!), tents, etc. Hopefully the neighbors will get on board with bedrooms!!!

Anybody that wants more privacy (or not to feel like they're in a submarine) I'll happily drive in to a motel in town. (And leave them there ALONE – Rick!)

Let me know your wishes because I found a great deal on air mattresses and want to snap them up before they're gone.

Regarding Galena Friday night, the cheapest hotel you'll find in Galena is $120. The hotel we've stayed at twice before, Timmerman's in East Dubuque, is 12 miles west of Galena at $86/night. (Restaurant is stumbling distance across the parking lot.)

What do you think of that?

You won't find nicer accomodations Steve. Rick and Patty have a beautiful home, comfortable guest beds and Patty puts on a hell of a meal.

Maybe my brains are too addled...but didn't we already settle on two nights in PDC?...and Didn't we book rooms for two nights already there? Not that I have a problem with changing plans...

I have very good memories of Timmermans...I'd be happy to go back there and save the money. Never cared much for dropping a lot of $$ for a hot shower and a place to sleep for a few short hours.

Timmerman's sounds good to me, too! Have good memories of the parking lot!

I have to head back on Sunday, sorry. I imagine others traveling from a long way have a couple days travel time and need Sunday to get halfway - Sammy? EC? TY? Post up opinions. I can hang if I HAVE to . . . but . . .

The rest can hang another night, though! (IMG:http://www.harleyshoptalk.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/thumb.gif)

Lodging for Friday May, 25th: Timmerman's in E. Dubuque, IL. Click here for reservations: http://www.timmermanhotel.com/reservation.php

Clay or ? : where did you get a motel in PDC? Post the link so we can make a reservation for Sat and/or Sun nights.

If you could post up hotel infor again, here, Linda, I'm sure the place would be fine. We prolly need to book it purdy soon.

Someone else find it....

I gotta go get my knees shot up this morning so I'm not looking. But, I thought Dot SUGGESTED a place in PDC. I never got that it was official or even what or how many night(s).

If you could post up hotel infor again, here, Linda, I'm sure the place would be fine. We prolly need to book it purdy soon.

Someone else find it....

Yeah, that's how I remember it too. I think Dot linked to a Microtel in PDC...and either I booked my rooms for that or I'm confusing that with our trip to Ohio's reservations from last year. Let me look through my email inbox for a reservation confirmation. I generally keep those till the trip is over.

Rick, what time on the 23rd are you leaving for Huey's. It'll take me 2 days to get to your place. If you're leaving for Huey's in the late morning, I could probably make Chanute or so on my day 1, and get to your place in the AM. That would let me leave here on Tuesday. If you're leaving early on the 23rd, I'll head out on Monday.

Supposed to meet Mark, Phil, Clay, Mike, etc, in St. Joseph, MO at 10:30 AM on Wed, so we would have to leave here no later than 9:30 AM. You could ride straight to St. Jo or here . . . whatever is best for you.

What city are you riding to my house from?

Odessa, TX. Shortest distance to OP is 782 mi. St. Huey is 969. Cud make it to ST. Huey in 2 days. OP would be some different scenery anyway, but would burn an extra day. I'll mull it over.

You could do it in a day if you want. We did 900 from Robert's to my house in a day, but we did 130 to 140 kph most of the way. (I am going to KPH on rate of speed - just sounds faster!)

You could do 2 nice days on back roads and enjoy the ride, too!

Don't push it, do want feels best, let me know what you decide and as Ordy always says sometimes, "Ride Safe!"

Would be great to see you Steve ... do you have the extra day of vacation to make the days shorter??

You could always spend the two-three days and hammer up to Milwaukee ... scooter up Saturday and Sunday and Monday (if needed) and you can see Milwaukee for a day then we can leave Tuesday morning ....
