OK ... I have an arrangement in place that needs quick action.

I found a great location Hotel.

Port Zelder Motel (262) 241-5850 ** 10036 N Port Washington Rd, Mequon, WI

Ask for Tammy (the Manager)

$110 per night (This is a GREAT deal at this point) (53 location contacts later ...)

Make sure that you tell her you are part of the "HST" harley group

Check in would be Tuesday 8/27/2013 ... Check out Sunday 9/1/2013 (or different if you want)

I will do my best to find spots for peeps. Right now I have Ty and Sandra, Clay and Sara, and Robert and Anita staying at our house.

I am working on 1-2 other in-town options for additional peeps ... but for now let's get the rooms reserved (No credit card needed) I am pretty sure I will be able to find spots for 4-5 more peeps.

Please let me know once you have contacted them and made arrangements.

Right now I am really leaning towards NOT buying a HD 110th ticket package ... I do not think that we will need them with the amount of activities going on with the 4 dealers in town.

Get those Motel reservations MADE!!!! (and let me know when complete)

Mike, we appreciate your efforts to find affordable lodging. But are you sure about this place? The reviews at Google, Yahoo, and Tripadvisor sound horrible.
I'm not trying to be a wet blanket (or a black cloud), but I also don't want to go home with bed bugs, fleas, or a bullet in my side.

New owner since October of last year ...

With the place being in Mequon I am not overly concerned ...

Mequon is the biggest city in the highest wage earning county (Ozaukee) in Wisconsin ...

If it was junk it would be closed down ...

Our problem is we're not sure we can do the full Tuesday thru Sunday. Is the rate valid for a shorter period?

I just got hired on to the company I've been on loan at since June. I don't even know that I can be gone that long. Their eyes bugged out at my long weekend last Labor Day but they weren't my employer at that time! Fortunately our travel time is minimal.

Additionally, Bruce's legs can't realistically handle 5 days of biker functions.

As someone who has a room arranged, I'd be willing to throw into a pool of cash to help out with some others budget. And before anyone refuses out of pride, just know that I've been the beneficiary of the generosity of several HST family members in the past that has enabled me to take part in several rallies I'd have not been able to attend. It would feel good to finally give back a little to ensure we got to see more of our friends this year. Too many of the old regulars have missed the past few years and you are sorely missed. Since Sara and I have one of the shortest commutes and lodging, I'll pledge $200

Just kidding that is very generous of you Clay. After some discussion Sherri and I can be a last minute entry at best. Minor issue being money...others being care for Janie, 2 dogs, Sherri having two jobs, me working extra hours and Sherri being in school as well.

Nope! Not busy here!! lol

Unfortunately not available with the amount of people coming in for the 110th. Normally lodging would not be an issue ... but everything within 50 miles of Milwaukee is already taken.

I am trying other more creative options ... more info soon

Maybe just maybe and I could be out of line in my thoughts but maybe we should talk about having a HST event where its just a HST event with some riding involved in a central location for the biggest attendance. Im not saying this to take away from Mike at all, im just saying this because

I want to go to the 110 anniversary, I want to take in all there is to take in! I am thankful for Mike's offer to host us and to work out the best possible scenario for those of us who want to go to the 110th. Not to say others are not "thankful" just that there not interested in the 110th. I look forward to this huge event, I know some of you are going to Sturgis. I know some of you went to the 100th so 110th is nothing to you but maybe we can plan a HST event that catches people on there way home from Sturgis and others on there way to the 110th :)

just some thoughts.

Kim and I will not be attending, I am getting ready to pay for some unexpected surgery out of pocket. Nothing life threatening but a really fast way to drop 50K.

Ty makes some good points but Mike you have to do what you feel best since you are the host. As several on this board know it's a HUGE undertaking. We planned for a year - actually two - when in Texas folks chose Cali next. STILL pissed I missed that one! (IMG:http://www.harleyshoptalk.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif)

I'm sure the 110th would be a cool thing...I also think it would be easier economically on folks and make it much easier if you do it on a week where accommodations are closer and have a greater chance of everyone being "together". One of our main concerns was having everyone close to our place to minimize driving. THANK GOD for Caroline as she was most gracious and not only rented a car but was a taxi for everyone!! That was SUCH a stress relief off Sherri and me knowing people wouldn't be having a few and jumping on their bikes. She's a peach!

Just food for thought man. (IMG:http://www.harleyshoptalk.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/beerbang1.gif)

I know you got this man. Just offering up perspective since I've been in your shoes. I'm sure whatever you plan will be great. We are still doing to try like hell to be there!

Hey Zip. Thanks. She's a keeper!

We're sort of counting on folks from the South, West and East stopping by here for an overnight on the way. After that we would head to WI next day.

"T" is figuring on trailering the Yammie to WI. That way should can do the same thing a OH. Taxi. And, we could bring those blow up dolls, I mean beds in case they're needed. That's part of the plan but we here ya'. We kinda hate being split up. Hard to leave one place for another when the party's going. I'd commit her to ONE trip from the hotel to Mike's or vice versa. She, like you worries a little bit about us drunks drivin'. Told her we're all better half in the bag than sober. I don't know why she has a problem wit dat. (IMG:http://www.harleyshoptalk.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

In any case, it will be fun using the Yammie as target practice! (IMG:http://www.harleyshoptalk.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif) (IMG:http://www.harleyshoptalk.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/hysterical.gif)

We're also struggling with the length of time. And, my ever present NON-ability to walk very damn far. So, we'll see.
