OK ... their is a real possibility that I will not be living in Milwaukee during the 110th.

On a previous thread I had mentioned the major life change for us moving to Peoria for a job opportunity.

I have an idea that our home will sell fast (My last house sold in 2 1/2 hours) ... and if it does we will not have housing for peeps to come to Milwaukee for the 110th.

So, for those that have not purchased tickets or made travel arrangements please wait a month or so prior to committing the cash. Either I have a scheduled closing before the 110th or I do not.

If it ends out that this falls through and no 110th gathering ... those that already bought tickets please send an e-mail to me at michaelstephens@ameritech.net I will try to make it right with everyone.

So, who's going to Sturgis?? I will need a plan "B" if things fall apart.

Let me just say...

There are probably about 100 of us, who do this job, in the U.S. One could probably assume that 90 of them are not worth a shit! We're lucky to have him. IN '09 I missed the TX rally cause this place was going to shit down. Mike and I talked about moving all the work to Milwaukee. Well, new Management came in and realized what they had. Been grwong like a weed ever since. So, shit changes.

I know just a bit of "back story" on why Mike is making the move. It's righteous for shit sake! And, it's NOT something we/he could put off. My quitting ain't a want to it's a have to!

Blame me!! Shit! If I didn't know better... Start over. A stranger would think y'all are rippin' on Mike. I think you're half kidding or all kidding. I don't know. At the 100th 13 of us camped on someone's front yard in Mukwonago! Found 'em online! One bathroom. And one of the chicks in our group would be in the bathroom for an hour and half! Even that didn't make her pretty!!

With some web searches we can find peeps doing the same thing.

I hope this shit works out too. WE can make it work! From my perspective Mike don't owe anyone shit.

I admit I dont think about "strangers" here on HST and or care what they think or feel! They need to stick around and get to know me if they are wondering if I'm cereal or not. Mikes house and the work he did is truly awesomeness and so is your house for that matter but way different cuz his is a "Historical Landmark"! I made promises to my little women that i would show her these places. Heck I may never be allowed to take another trip on my own if this falls through. The ol' "I was just scouting it out for us" wont work she will say "what if they get a different job and move? I wont be able to say. "That's never going to happen he lives in a historical landmark"! HAHAHA LMAO i never thought i would ever say sumtin like that. AND I would never say stuff if I didnt think "he knows me" "he will just laugh" or call me names. Im very happy for both of you and value both friendships and would never say any thing I thought would hurt or offend either of you guys on purpose (any of my friends for that matter)! I was going to woop out all my old people jokes but I can tell your a little sensitive at the moment (menopause affects us all different)! im joking im joking its got to be tough on you too leaving your baby and all your extended work family you were a good boss/supervisor ceo etc etc all in all and all of the above!

But seriously as Robert said and I mentioned on facebook SHIT ALWAYS WORKS OUT just not sure how yet its to soon! Could be one of our lives is saved because of any change's we have to make, its all good Bruce and Mike! Big changes i cant imagine and Mike if ya need some help just let me know!

obviously no offense taken ...

I will try to come up with some lodging options ...

very worst case scenario ... I have a one bedroom & one bath basement unit in our duplex that I plan on just keeoing for us
(* Port Washington, WI *)

there is a pretty good sized backyard for camping

I will try to find some other options near the duplex

We will figure something out ... we already bought our tickets for the 110th as well ...

ok ... the event will be a go no matter what ....

It is most likely that we will be headquarters out of Port Washington, WI

I have a duplex that used to be a triplex years ago.

i will get the basement unit into a functional 1 bedroom 1 bath unit.

Some peeps will stay inside and the rest will be camping in the large yard.

I will be staying outside.

I will locate a 10 person tent ... maybe two of them ... go craigslist go ...

i will make sure to also get on-site firewood for a fire pit.

There is supposed to be a big event in Port for on the of the 110th nights... we should be able to walk to it

I will also try to plan good weather so everyone has a good time.

That's the plan.

Bruce and "T" have air mattresses for us to use so it will not be camping and sleeping on the ground.

I can also run electrical cords for any power needs.

i should have a full size refrigerator in the unit prior to the event as well.

we will just have to make it work and everyone will have a great time ...

Who knows...This may make the rally more memorable and entertaining in some way. Certainly will give it more of a Sturgis rally feel.

Hope it's not 100* or rainy.

wooooohooooo tickets are arriving (mine arrived) and trip planning is in full swing! I will be picking Sandra up and dropping off at a airport, due to her job thang. I would like to do my best at not effecting the group or a group of riders so I need some dates! She will fly in and out of Peoria or Milwaukee and could even do a multi city but we got to lock in the cheapest flights.

I have flip flopped a couple times on weather I ride or fly to Bruce's. Bruce and T have offered me a ride for the event so that i could fly and ride. I am so over whelmed by there generosity I feel guilty to even think of riding my own bike to this event. I am truly blessed to have the options i have and to change my mind is a struggle! I mean no disrespect and I am truly sorry if i put you out in anyway getting that bike ready for me to ride. I hope all the prep you did were things you were going to do anyway! But if in any way i did put you out, I will reimburse you guys or work it off while I'm there!

I want to show you guys my bike! That's the bottom line, just like you want to show me your new truck Bruce I want to show you what i did to the Fat Boy! I have ridden coast to coast (twice), Sturgis 3 times, all over California and once to Oregon. I have 3 states left to fill in my map and one of them I have ridden in just not to. (Wshington State, Louisiana & Florida) Mechanical or fuel events were just part of traveling and added to the adventure! My trip to Oregon by myself is one of my fondest memories, no time line to speak of, no motels scheduled, no camp reservations and no phone calls I had to make! I remember laying on a river bank watching a fly fisherman catch a trout while a Eagle flew over my head! One of my other fondest memories was the trip to Tennessee, Sick Puppy riding out to California to get there! Sick Pup leaving California the week before we did and catching up with him in Texas I think. Shit myself on a bridge near a river bank with a crow flying over my head. AHHHHHHHHHH The memories that were created leading up to a great gathering with the best friends i have ever had. The communication/tracking that goes on, some people at home some out there on the road. The stories from the road, the people you meet, the weather and every thing else that goes with a road trip.

I did the math and checked airfare it will cost me the same to fly to Bruce's RT as it would be to ride RT. With the help of some family members and some HST members I wont need any motels and I'm already packing a tent so if need be i can camp! I have to go to Arizona around August 16 to secure the house and move in some of our home furnishings. (renters moving out) House will be a "vacation rental" or not until we pull the trigger and move! so I will be trailering to Arizona then departing for Bruces. I plan on getting to Bruce's early and i think Sick Pup is too since he may not be able to make Milwaukee.

So everyone knows, T's brother is getting married on that Saturday. We have two tickets. Anyone in our group can have them for Saturday. Maybe more days if I can't walk. So,if anyone wants to "share" tickets we're your peeps!

Mike do you have a "plan" yet i know your pretty busy so do any of us that are going have a plan yet or a idea? Clay? Robert? I just got to work out Sandra's flights the less days off for her is the better, Granddaughter #5 and grandchild #7 is due any day now so she will be taking time off for that too so her job is kinda sensitive especially since she is the ONLY office staff, payroll, dispatcher, billing, reception, receivable, payable etc.

What about a trip to the museum?

"General admission tickets purchased now are not valid to visits during the Harley-Davidson 110th Anniversary Celebration: August 29-September 1, 2013). Timed ticketing reservations are required for both Museum Members and for the general public to enter the H-D Museum during the 110th Anniversary Celebration. Museum Member Ticket Reservations begin April 29th, 2013. The general public will be able to purchase Museum tickets beginning May 6, 2013."

Hey Ty...my plans are simple. I get off work at 6 am on Thursday. The bike will be loaded and ready to go so Sara and I should be on the road to Milwaukee by 7 am. It is about a 6 hour drive as I recall so we should be meeting you all by early afternoon. We'll enjoy whatever our $110/ticket package gets us but fuck the HOG shit and the museum as far as I'm concerned. I was a bit pissed to see that our tickets don't get us into half the concerts. (IMG:http://www.harleyshoptalk.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) I'd rather sit around sippin beers and crackin wise on my friends. (IMG:http://www.harleyshoptalk.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/yes.gif) I've seen motorcycle museums. I've got books with the origins of HD with pics and details of all their bikes...and if I were inclined to go to a museum for motorcycles, I'd be interested in a museum that caters to more than just one brand of cycle.

Anyway...we're in until Sunday morning when we'll hopefully get breakfast with the crew before heading for home. I have to work Sunday night.

Im curious as to how far from the summerfest fair grounds we will be kicking it? I need some address's or something for reference points.

A lot of thinking going on here....

As of now we have a limited # of days due to Anita's work (that's back to school time and no one is allowed time off...) When she said she'd put her 2 weeks notice in Aug. 1st. they gave her at least a week...

Two days to get there.... Hang out for Friday & Sat... We'll just ride straight to Wi. and head home Sun...

Haven't even got our tickets yet so I may take the Sat. passes off your hands Bruce... I'm willing to pay half price or whatever you'd like for them... Since I wasn't to sure on how much of the 110th events were going to be included I've been putting off on ordering them....

Anyway, even if it's for a limited time we're still looking forward to getting together with everyone....

See Ya'll Soon..... (IMG:http://www.harleyshoptalk.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/beerbang1.gif)

They are yours R&A. No charge! Glad they'll be used. That is if they're good for anything! Cool, Thank You B&C...

Much appreciated.... That'll be one thing less to worry about....

We'll just wait to see what the Dr. tells Anita about traveling in the sun.... We may be doing some night riding.... Nothing wrong with that... Huh, Mike??? :-)
