Sure, but too much planning will take the fun out of it... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Mike is coming through OK but I don't think Anita will go for that... It's a pretty boring ride it's nicer going through Arkansas but we'll see....

Either way I'll get the info to you....

Quick question, since Illinois does not have a reciprocal CHL agreement with any other state what is the legal method of transporting a handgun for us out of state types?

Once you hit Illinois stash your weapon OFF you person. That way it won't be found on you if you happen to get stopped and pat searched for "Officer Safety." Also, don't do something that will get you stopped. Keep in mind that if you are stopped and arrested the weapon will be found.

Damn I'm glad I don't have that issue.

Long before concealed carry was attainable in Illinois a car's console, if lockable, was considered legal. Things like that were deemed a secure "case". Your ammo can be in there as well. Contrary to popular wisdom around here.

But, a leather saddle bag probably won't do.

My problem is I'm talking about Illinoisans. I'm not sure about y'all. I'll try and find something definitive tonight. The odds of being stopped are with you but it could really go South if you're "ridin' dirty".

You can absolutely do this. Sammy pretty much summed it up. Scroll down a ways. I'm not sure this is the best document. Best I could do on short notice.
What caliber will you be bringing, Greg? I'll make sure you have something to shoot.

Holy hell you folks have some insane laws, it looks to me like if I keep it it a locked metal case inside my bag chained to the bike I am in compliance. And if I read this correctly I don't need a FOID card as a non resident although it only cited for hunting.
I will throw a few boxes of ammo in the bag so I'm good Bruce thanks for the info.

As a non-resident without a FOID (Firearm Owners ID) card it's all open for interpretation here in the gun unfriendly state of Illinois.

Illinois State Police publish this:
www.isp.state.il.us/docs/transgun0-000.pdf

Which only states: "Nonresidents must comply with the gun case law as described above. Additionally, the firearm must not be immediately accessible or must be broken down in a non-functioning state."

So, broken down, non-functioning and who knows where the ammo should be!

1911'is are little cumbersom for me to conceal carry in the summer that far, and a bit pricey to take a chance of loosing to a over eager cop.
I will probably bring one of my 9mm's (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cuda.gif)

Alright, T, go ahead and update the list one more time. We will not go to the "mile" on Sunday because we're going to head to Missouri for some family time. So we'll be in the RV. That means we're not real bikers because, sadly, our bikes will be in tow. But we'll be there starting Thursday afternoon. Looking forward to seeing everyone again and meeting a few new faces.

Well, I've known for awhile your intentions. Very glad you're on the list Mark and Earlene!!

Yeah, I have exchanged a couple emails with Sean. He's pretty disappointed with the timing of things. I sure wish he could make it along with Angela.

I think it was my first day on the road to Phoenix. Sean called me about 8 p.m. Says, he thought an old man might need a wake up call about this time of day. I REALLY appreciated that. Thought I would finally thank him publicly.

Class Act I tell ya!! Thanks again Sean!!!

That is A LOT of peeps staying at T's and Bruce's ...

Alisa and I would like to offer loding at our casa for anyone that might want to have more quite sleeping arrangments.
We are a mere 25 minutes away and we can provide transportation so that bikes can be left at gathering.
(* however, when Alisa says it is time to go ... well, it is time to call it a night ... *)

We had a standard bed room, a single bed room , and a finished basement with a queen size air matress ready to go.

I realize that it is more exciting to stay at the party-hub ... but this option is open if any interest ... please just let me know ...

That's a pretty good turn out...should be a great party. Really bummed Rick can't make it this time though. That fucker is always keeping everyone in stitches...laughing their asses off.

BTW: I got in touch with our friends. Due to health issues with her Mom, Trina had to take some time off work unpaid recently, so she's not sure if the time and money are going to be there to make this trip; but I told her to keep it in mind and keep trying cuz if it works out even last minute, we can find a place for them.

Hitting the road for the festivities this coming Saturday. Bike is ready to roll - changed the oil, lubed the chain and cleaned the mirrors.

Will be "off the air" for ~17 day's starting Friday evening, no cell phone either.

Special thanks to Ordy for the nifty travel bag which just happens to hold the whole ordinance load for the fireworks show. Should be at Bruce's next Sunday afternoon to drop this off.

OK, Tom. Need anything. Holla. Looking forward to it!!

Really like the deer skin gloves!!

You're on your way to nice pair of fingerless deerskin gloves. I hear all the cool bikers wear them.

If JoeX wore gloves that's what they would look like. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif)

Hey! I wear fingerless gloves...because they are cooler in the summer and stop the bike vibrations from putting my damn hands to sleep! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hysterical.gif)

Add a couple more. My sister and BIL from FL. He's kinda promised the '01 at this point. So.... He used to run an Indy shop in LaSalle, IL. He's forgotten more about knuckles and shovel heads than most know. Please welcome Nancy (Nan) and Dave.

Invited to ride along on Fri and Sat and races. Kim and Barb, Gary and Cheryl, Cheynen and Nicole, Brian and Lisa, Collins and Jana, and CeCe (friend of "T"). Some of these peeps, some of you know. Potentially, 32 of us on rides / party Saturday night. Doubt many of this group will go to the races but will prolly party.

I wear them too, harder than hell to pick your nose with regular gloves. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif)
