We expect to have a handful of new faces for you all to meet as well. Some of our local riding friends who've heard HST stories for years, and both of Sara's boys will be helping out in some capacity as well. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bike.gif)

As sweet as our location is right on the lake, I expect we'll keep the daily rides kinda short so we can spend more time socializing around the base camp. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerbang1.gif)

Sounds good, Bro....

In my opinion the point of actually hanging out with each other is what makes the rallies....

After all we ride 2-3 days to get there and 2-3 days to get back home....

Shorter Day Rides and more time at base camp to talk shit about the fuckers that don't make it to the Rally makes it more fun.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hysterical.gif)

Yes Tom I got several checks I need to deposit yet. The credit union with which I have the credit card with is based in the basement of the university's student union. It's a pain in the ass to go there; but they have the best rates. I'll try to make a point of getting that done this Friday on my day off.

Less than 6 month's to go folk's! Going to take the Apostle Islands loop on the way up this time. Have been thru the area a few times before and regret not making that run.

Clay - Did ya ever get a chance to run the check's thru? Are firework's legal in Minnesota? Maybe a dozen or 2 mortar ball's for a evening show lake side?

Yes Tom, I did get in a bunch of checks and applied them towards my credit card about two weeks ago. Definitely the biggest cc payment I've ever made. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Still hoping to drive up there before spring and scout out some places for lunch etc...but it's a good 5-6 hour run from Mankato up there. Always worth the trip though. Northern MN is like another country compared to southern MN...can't wait to show you all. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bike.gif)

Any other tips from anyone?...especially former rally hosts? We've got the lodging location sorted and booked. I've got a route around Mankato for anyone who arrives in time for a Wednesday ride along with most of the ride up north Thursday planned. And I believe Sandra's daughter Kim and Sara are putting together a menu.

For early arrivals to Mankato, I believe we'll have lodging for 2-3 couples in beds and probably another 2-3 on couches and air mattresses.

We'll stock up on beer and pick up some Budweiiiizer for Robert; but I hope to introduce some of you to the incredible craft brewing scene in Minnesota as well. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/green_beer.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerbang1.gif)

As far as fireworks go, technically MN bans fireworks; but with all neighboring states selling them, there are plenty going off all over Minnesota in the month of July. We'll be up north where the population is much less dense and chances are good we won't be fucked with...HOWEVER, those mortar rounds attract a lot more attention than your run of the mill fireworks.

Need to order up some new throttle cables and get those frayed ones replaced too. Don't want to be the reason we're stuck on the side of the road.

This is what I could find online:

First of all I didn't realize they had a website till now with better info than the VRBO site we found and booked it through:
http://www.cedarcliffretreat.com/index.html

Here is the link to their location page with a map of the area:
http://www.cedarcliffretreat.com/location.htm

The only address I found was to a Minneapolis location that handles the rental business.

Can't say I've ever heard of it Tom. Will have to do a little research into that. Sure wish Ty was going to be making this run. He would have taken any ride to entertain us all. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I've had a chance to do their alpine slide way back in 2002 when they used to allow mountain biking on Lutsen Mountain. It's a good time if any of you feel like being kids for a little while.

We've reserved a place down the road a bit. We'll arrive there on Wednesday.

If she's still around we'll be bringing Trixie.

Trying to talk Bruce into going around Lake Superior!

Sammy - Steve - Ordy - Bobby - etc. etc. - any takers??????

Sara's been prompting me to start something like this to help get an accurate count of attendees. The Metcalfs expressed some interest on Facebook and said they'd talk to Mark Kuhlman about it. That was over a month ago and I haven't heard any more from them about it.

We've got probably another half dozen or so non-HST friends who plan to take part as well. Hey "T"...Could you and Bruce bring a couple air mattresses up to cover any overflow?

Right now we're busy busting our asses taking care of some home improvements that seemed like a good time to take care of...New flooring.

WHAT? YOU HAVEN'T STARTED A SPREADSHEET YET???

MIKE - we need an intervention!!!

As for mattresses, 3 have leaks that I can't locate. 2 are the double height ones. I'll work on trying to get them fixed.

I should add if Trixie can't travel we won't either...

Looks like you guys have a great trip planned. Would love to come see everyone again. We are taking the kids to the outer banks in mid July, and Ryan is playing on a travel basketball team that has us traveling around about every weekend through the end of July.
