Hello Everyone. Iím rarely on the site anymore, Iíve been sucked into the Facebook and I blame Spurrs. But that aside, I wanted to confirm with the group that the 2018 HST RALLY will be in Milwaukee to coincide with Harleyís 115th anniversary. Many of us have discussed it, but after searching the board I wasnít able to find a thread, so here it is.
I have volunteered to host the coming rally, and wanted to make sure everyone is aware of the dates and location.
Labor Day weekend 8/30-9/3
Erin, Wisconsin (roughly 30 miles NW of Milwaukee)
Home base is at a farm with flexible sleeping accommodations. Itís going to depend on how many people attend, but Iím thinking of multiple campers across the property. But itís still fluid at this point.
With the 115th going on, thereís plenty of parties, shows and rides.
So thatís what I got.

Thoughts, confirmations, issues....

Thanks and Merry Christmas to you and your families.

Stupid Facebook . . .

I am in on WI. There is a little motel there in Erin. Would probably opt for a room there if possible and close to the "farm"?

LnP, Iím too too happy to put this together. I miss my whole HST familia! I canít guarantee anything but a good time 😎👍🇺🇸

Spurs, Itís hilarious that you mention the Erin motel, I had breakfast there Saturday, and spoke with the owner about renting the whole place (all 6 rooms). She informed me that she has long term residents exclusively. My response was, ďwell itís not actually a motel thenĒ, she replied, ďWell, thatís what the sign says sweetheartĒ.
Thereís enough room for a decent size group in the main house (12-14 ish) with the use of air mattresses. But Iím thinking about renting 8-10 pop up campers and setting em up around the property (10 acres). Iím hoping that I can make sure everyone is more than comfortable. In addition to the main house, thereís a barn that is getting some upgrades, including a full bathroom, with a shower, little kitchenette and a hang out space. So thatís got great potential for stacking bodies, um I mean, generous accommodations 😊.
Do you think Randyís up for another little ride?

Randy, Bob & Ken all want to make the trip, but we be too damn old for camping and snoring roommates anymore. Love showers, crappers and real beds - though not necessarily in that order . . .

Which direction from and how far is the farm in relationship to the bogus "motel"? Just an estimate.

AND . . . thanks for hosting and putting in the work. Not fun nor easy, but very much appreciated!

The farm is at
1435 St. Augustine Rd.
Hartford (Erin), WI.
The farm is 2-3 miles east of the Erin Motel. I will get you some good options in close(ish) proximity. If you remember the Fox & Hounds supper club we had lunch/dinner at in 13í, the farm is 5 minutes from there.

Was thinking playing Erin Hills one day. Sight. Of this year's. US Open. Even looked into staying there. Uh, NO! $295 for. A round of golf,, walking course only so you probablly have to pay a caddie close to a "C" note. Anyway, all that aside...

With ya' Rick. Just don't feel like camping. Would be great to coordinate lodging so that we could travel back to the room in a group. I'd appreciate a leader after dark!!! Frickin' eye balls!!!

AmericInn in Hartford is probably the best bet. The reviews are great and itís less than 10 miles away. Donít forget, itís the 115th as well, so things are probably going to book early. Itís a 4 bed 3 bath house, plus a finished basement space thatís very similar to the shed at HST Central. Iím confident thereís enough space for everyone, and if need be Iíve got another buddy near by thatís got a 5 bed/ 3 bath for overflow if needed.

So this is the list of attendees so far.
Nightrider & Alisa
LnP
Seahag & Sara
Curt & Deb
Mike & Trina
Fgowi & T
Spurrs
Randy
Bob
Ken
MNHOG
Sick puppy
Montana Jim
Zip
Sandra?
Blackcloud & Silver lining?
Jarhead?
Badco 67?
Bamsambo?
Ordy?
Buck & Dot? I know you guys are already booked, but maybe ride over for the afternoon one day and roll out the next morning.

Please chime in, if youíre not on this list and should be. Iím thinking this is a pretty great start.

Memphis is a great stopping point for the final ride to Milwaukee.

LnP and Anita have a room reserved (maybe a day early to go to Graceland and Beale street)

Blackcloud & Silver lining ... any interest?

anyone else need in route lodging

We are really looking forward to this gathering... screwing over last year's event is one of the reasons I changed jobs...

Adli - plz reserve a room for me ... Alisa will likely stay at her sister's ... I cannot stay there ...

We can't say at this point. The contract she's on is coming to an end and a new contract is being bid. Her current company is not bidding.
Best case scenario: she switches to whichever company gets the contract and they award her a leave balance equal to what she has (not f'ing likely).
Realistic scenario: she switches companies and has no leave whatsoever.
Worse case scenario: when the new company picks up the contract for the job she's doing, they may not hire her.

So..... we just don't know.
