Just quit on me a few days ago. I took the cable loose at both ends and saw that the ends weren't broken and that the whole thing was turning. Then I hooked the cable back to the speedometer and attached a drill set to reverse on the other end and saw that my speedometer was working. I then assumed the drive unit at the wheel was bad, but when I got to looking, the end of the little tang on the drive was broken. I aligned what was left of the tang with the slot on the rotor that it goes in and took a small screwdriver and hammer and punched the end of it into the slot. Took it for a teat ride, and it worked. I diconnected it again and filled the drive opening with anti-seize. I also lubed the cable with WD-40 and put everything back together. Hope I'm good to go, now.

I really like it when somebody doesn't pay somebody else.

It made me feel good. I usually buy new parts before I figure out I could have fixed the old one. I appreciate the knowledge I've gained on this forum. I've lurked for quite awhile before joining.
