hey everyone, is has been a while since I've been on here. I hope it's okay to post something motorcycle related and not election related....

So a about 3 years ago, I added a batwing fairing to my Road King, and replaced my bars with a pair of Paul Yaffee Original bagger apes, 14". Put a nice head unit in it, nice amp, and a pair of 6x9's. sounds great, and has worked well.

I'm kind of bored with that now though, and itching to pull all that off and go with some more aggressive 16-18" apes and no windshield....I'm partial to Carlini Design right now, pretty much like all of their taller apes.

Before my batwing, I used to ride about 1/2 the time without my windshiled, so I'm familiar with the wind, bugs, rain, etc.

thoughts....

That looks sick.

Trainman's bud, who rode with us to the Tail of the Dragon, had something similar on his RoadKing.

I have 12.5" Wild1's on my Eglide and yours look about the same height as mine. Personally I wouldn't go higher but do remember Trainman's bud swearing by his. Think they had to be at least 18"...

Sweet RoadKing bro'. Love what you've done to it.

Ride safe

I'm leaning towards the flying apes.....but just can't quite make my mind up.

I rode a drunk friends Roadking home for him a couple of years ago with apes on it that where just over shoulder height and hated it....
Maybe it riding a bike strange to me after a late night phone call for help, but it felt encredably awkward to me.

Hey Sean, welcome back.

I'm am (was) an APE-aholic. My Springer had 14's only because I couldn't reach to steer with anything higher. Finally had to drop them to 12s when my circulation went to hell and I couldn't feel my fingers. I've got Minis (10") on my trike now, old age is really the pits. My opinion, go as high as you can reach and steer comfortably. Remember, "I ain't afraid of no stinking bugs or wind"

Stick around, we miss your face

Hey Sean, how's it going?

Steve (the Trainman) fell off the face of Long Island somewhere. Think he sold his bike and was concentrating on work and family.

Gangster Apes have that swept back look that follows the lines of the bike better than the Flying Apes. They're both sick though so any choice you make will be the right one. I'm partial to the leaned back look of the Gangsters.

Ride safe

replaced my stock handlebar bushings with Polyurethane ones. Really seems like they are much stiffer..... (seems like should be a "that's what she said" joke ....) , looking forward to seeing how it handles on the road...
