Since it doesn't look like I'll be getting the FB back on the road this season... I am thinking about pulling the tanks, they have a little bit corrosion inside along the seam at the bottom. I was wondering if anybody has used anybody out there on the marlet to do a coating inside? I have done old Jap bikes with Kreem a few times for friends and it turned out good. Is that still a good option??? Figure I'll do this during the winter along with bring some parts off it here to clean up/refinish/ or replace.

look at Por15 http://www.por15.com/HD-CYCLE-TANK-REPAIR-...uctinfo/HDCTRK/

they have lots of stuff....never used it myself but it's been around a long time in the old car circles....seen it done once....

ps: keep your tanks full to keep out the rust from condensation in the winter

Cool, I didn't know POR 15 did a MC tank kit. It does seem similar to Kreem in its application with the extra metal prep step on the POR 15. Thanks!

Red-Kote is recommended by some of the aftermarket tank suppliers. They suggest doing it with new tanks from the get go. I ordered some and will be trying it on my Honda XL350 steel tank as it's pin holed. If it works good with MTBE Kalifornia gas ( (IMG:http://www.harleyshoptalk.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/hstwave.gif) ) I'll report back ...
