I'm looking for a new headlight for my 1989 sportster. I see many listed. Some are 2 wire and some are 3 wire. Can you get high/low beam from either? Haven't removed my present one yet so I don't know if it's 2 or 3 wire. Does the replacement need to be the same as the one on the bike now, or could either 2 or 3 wire be made to work? I have high/ low now and would like to have the same on another one. Thanks.

Jim

I have no idea. Seems only 1 kind should be matched to your bike though.

Thanks. I finally checked mine out. It's a 3 wire, so I went with another 3 wire. I guess the 2 wire are basically a spot light, no high/low beam.
