Hey all, I skimmed through the previous topics and didn't see anything that stood out as a similar question.

My wife and I bought our Harleys a little over a month ago and we are looking to upgrade our exhaust. I know adding an exhaust will typically adjust the bike which requires tuning. After lots of research and studying I have decided on Vance and Hines Short Shots and my wife likes the Big Radius 2 into 2. I was looking into the Screaming Eagle Street and Pro performance tuners and also the Vance and Hines Fuel Pak as the tuning chips. I am leaning more towards the Fuel Pak as we will be running V&H pipes but wanted some input from the members on what they recommend. As far as the Screaming Eagle chips I was looking at the street performance one as I do not take my bike on the track and the pro chip voids the engine warranty.

Does anyone have any experience with these?

Thanks

I use the SE Race Tuner on my 04....but you do not need to re-map it for an exhaust only change....if you change the air cleaner you will need the re-map

As mentioned by wholehog, if you just do the exhaust, no map needed. If you change out your breather in addition to the exhaust you will then need to re-map.

For me, I don't add any of that stuff. Seems like a lot of folks have had weird shit happen to their bikes after adding those things. So they end up taking them off. Not everyone, mind you. But enough to keep me away from them.

Dan I put a V&H fuel Pack on my 11 Softail after putting on pipes, intake and having the download. I can't say I really felt any real changes, less then a year after purchase my bike crapped out on the road with electric issues, I disconnected the fuel pack on the bike has run fine every since.

I would not buy one again.

right there is the reason that you don't want some device that "hangs on" the system....a Race Tuner modifies the firmware in the ECM...no electrical wiring once the program is flashed.....

or do what sammy does and get a carb (IMG:style_emoticons/default/whistling.gif)
