Anyone know if a FLHS tank will fit on my 89 sportster?

They make brackets that you use to mount fat bob tanks to any bike...if you are handy with tools.

I just did a search for "gas tank mounts" and got these results and several others at jpcycles.com Their catalogs are great fun to go through when you're first starting out customizing a harley...and they'll send you one free. Once you buy something from them, you'll get 2-3 per year for life it seems; though I haven't bought anything from them in a few years.

Thanks for the links! To meet it seems like they make brackets so most any tank will fit on almost any bike? Is that a correct assumption? I think my tank is slightly more than 2 gallons, so i'm sure i'll be stopping to fuel up more often, but i just don't know if it's worth spending a few hundred on a new tank just to prevent frequent stops.
