I purchased the HD Windsplitter http://www.harley-davidson.com/store/wind-...tter-windshield

Wind Splitter Windshield-57164-10Part Number 57164-10

Anyways, I fucken hate it. I had a cheapo ebay 8" dark smoke before and it was the perfect height. Mikey still has the same one I had on his bike. The 8" never directed wind at my face. But the 7" Windsplitter is hitting me square in the baby-blues. I measured from the top-center of the fairing and it only reads 6 1/4". To even get it close to the 8" I had I would have needed to order the 10"

Wind Splitter Windshield-57400092

Part Number 57400092

Now I gottah find another windshield real-quick. What a FUCKEN waste of $165 bucks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif)

This guy cooks his own! You can call him and talk directly to the person who is making the shield. John is his name. I absolutely will never buy anything else. But, I'm a Roadie guy, as you know.

Click on Road Glides and read my testimonial on his website. www.freedomshields.com

I think he may have ya covered. Depends on what you want. Maybe he'll have something you like. Gave me super service in terms of turnaround.

Sorry Eddie. I simply don't know why HST doesn't like Apple iPads. Iffin' I'd typed that link on the PC it would be, well, a link.

I have a cheapo JP 8" on my trike, same one I had on my Ultra. Absolutely great. Wind is right at the top of my helmet. Vesta has a 6" version on hers. Looks good, does the job.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumb.gif) Thanks for the link Bruce, now I gotta decide if I want the 8" or 9" freedomshield. I hate expensive experiments.

Get the 9"....

You can always trim it down but you can't add to it.... Good Luck....

I thought that wind splitter was supposed to be the cats meow... Maybe not...

Good Luck....

I would tend to agree with Robert. But, if you're looking for comfort he will "fit" you, Over the phone, I'm pretty sure. Maybe his business has taken off to where he can't do that anymore. I really don't know.

He gave me some measurements to take and EXACTLY from where to take them. All that told him to recommend a 14" for me. Nailed it!!

I'd venture to say he'll build you a 8.5 if you wanted it!

I ordered the 8" just like I used to have that worked well for me. Should be ok.. but if not John will take it back and send a 9" no questions asked as long as I love all the protective packaging on during my test ride. Sounded like a no brainer, no risk deal. Thanks again for the lead Bruce.
