I am getting a 2004 heritage tomorrow. It has the passenger backrest with luggage rack.I have a nice old tourpack from a metric bike I used to own, would hold a lot of stuff.I was going to mount it to the luggage rack. I have heard those mounts are not strong enough for a tourpack.Plus, the bike is red and silver.I suppose i could paint it 2 tone to match the lines of the bike.I suppose a site like colrrite would have the paint.I am in no way able to paint.I would pay someone. is there a secret to getting paint to stick to abs? i have wondered this many times since nearly all saddlebags are abs and get scratched from time to time. All input appreciated.

Cruiserlover my suggestion would be to go with the HD detachable docking station, then bolt the corasponding mounts to your tourpac, not super cheap but secure and removable, you can alternate between sissy bar back rest and tour pack in a Minute or less.

As far as painting I would take it to a body shop and get there advise.

My detachable tour pak for my RK mounts to the same points as the detachable luggage rack. Hell, I've hauled more weight on the luggage rack with my strap on Saddlemen bag than I have even gotten in the tour pac.

Yes, check into it. It's a bit expensive, but works very well and is the way to go.
