My liner showed up thursday.Got the one with seperate wiring for the gloves and a dual controler.Gloves are on back order damn it.Wired the bike that evening, rode to work yesterday,40* both ways. This thing is NICE! Didn't even have it up half way and was toasty. This morning leaving on our annual "freeze your balls off ride".
29* out now, leaving in about an hour.Only about 150 miles with a couple of stops but should be a good test. Report back later...Russ (IMG:http://www.harleyshoptalk.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/bike.gif)

Hokay.I'll be damned,I'm one major happy smilin pussy. This thing works fanfuckingtastic! We rode 'bout 220 in temps from 29 to 60.Never felt cold.No chaps ,just longjons under my jeans.Highest I had the contol was about half way.Starts to get too warm, turn it down or open the jacket, gets too cold, turn it back up.Just a long sleeve t shirt, the liner and leather jacket. No more layers and layers feel like Pilsbury dough boy.Keeps your body core and arms real warm and that helps to keep extreamitys warm.Shoulda got this years ago.
On their website is a form for custom fit and i'm told that makes a difference.Sure works for me.

Russ (Pussy for life) I hates being cold!!

An update on this company. When I ordered the liner I fucked up on the sleeve length measurement and wound up with them being 4 inches short. So I called them today and the gal said no prob, send it back and they'll ship a new one.Mind you this one was custom made for my "short" arms. She says 4 inches longer is off the shelf item, should have the new one in about a week,no charge. My fuckup, they're gonna make it right anyway.Don't get no better than that!! Yes I did.I figured they were close enough for ups to get here in 2 days and wanted to deal with them direct. On the phone they're real helpful. They do have dealers around the country. If there were one closer I would have gone in person to check them out. Can't wait for my shit to get back.My round trip to work and back is 50 miles but it's been 25-30* in the morning so I've been taking my truck.

Bought the Gerbing jacket, G-3 gloves, and dual controller. The jacket is a "limited edition" model that is gray and has a few extras. It was only $10 more than the standard jacket.

I bought the stuff at a local Honda dealer, and I'm glad that I did. I ended up buying sizes that I probably wouldn't have. Their prices were the same as posted on Gerbing's site.

I ended up with large gloves when I thought I needed mediums. It is reportedly better to buy gloves that are loose fitting. I had intended to buy the Classic gloves, but preferred the G-3 gloves which are less bullky.

I ended up with a size 46 jacket which is larger than I would have ordered. I know the jackets are supposed be snug, but a 44 was too snug and the sleeves were a bit short.

I didn't want to spend the money on the controller, but I learned that without the controller, the equipment runs on "high". So, without it, you turn the stuff off when you are cooking, then you freeze.

I hope it warms up and that I don't need the stuff until fall.

Finally broke down and picked up the liner and dual controller today. Already had the G3 gloves. Temps were in the low 40's and the jacket liner worked like a charm. Great stuff.

I bought the jacket on ebay. Originally HD contracted with Gerbing to have the jackets made in black and orange with "Harley-Davidson" emblazoned on the back. They no longer sell the jacket. I got it for a song.

Word of warning to you guys with the jacket.... Not water proof! In a downpour wear your rain jacket under the Gerbing jacket and make sure you don't keep your cell phone in any of the pockets. Water soaks right through.

Proof that this stuff really works; on a cold day, ie. 35 degrees, remove the gloves and wrap your hands around the handlebars after a ride. Them sumbitches is cold!!!!

Ride Safe
