I read somewhere that since Elton John was such a hit at the 100, they hired Prince to prance around the stage.

that would still be better then elton john ... at least Prince rode a bike in the purple rain movie ... and since prince is from the 80's ... which is the best music ever ... ya, that would be ok with me ...

So the plan is to go back downtown again? I think Sara will like that plan; but I don't relish the idea of traffic and crowds down there.

You know. I doubt anyone dislikes crowds more than me. But, I want to see HST peeps! At the 100th I found the whole experience really pretty damn managable. I gotta say Milwaukee goes out if its way for biker safety and convenience.

For example. I have no notion where this was. A right side exit ramp downtown. A biker went down. A second biker went down in the same location. There was some construction going on at the transition from the ramp to the surface street. When the second bike went down the city changed/added signage and changed the lane routing traffic took. Problem solved! I was pretty impressed.

Three guesses where they build Harleys! (IMG:http://www.harleyshoptalk.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/hysterical.gif) City seemed pretty engaged in the whole thing.

Still don't like crowds! (IMG:http://www.harleyshoptalk.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

The word about busses and your testimonial about the 100th anniversary is reassuring. I would imagine this event will be slightly less well attended do to the dive the economy has taken for many Americans over the past decade...so hopefully, the crowds will be even less of an issue. We don't need to talk! (IMG:http://www.harleyshoptalk.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/hysterical.gif) That's what we've been planning all along! And, hoping a bunch stop over on the way.

All (but especially Night Rider), SL and I eagerly anticipated being able to make this trip. We even have a couple friends that we've made some long trips with that wanted to come too. However, in the last several days, I have been briefed on budgetary cutbacks, and it doesn't look good. At all. I'll go ahead and make the call now instead of stringing y'all along. We will bow out. Sorry. (IMG:http://www.harleyshoptalk.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/banghead.gif)
