I didn't even know Kuryakyn made any kind of Cruise cotrol. They have it on there Web site # 6280. $199. This is not what I would call a real cruise control but it's close. Works by Electromagnetic's, push-button on and off. Will also turn off with a tap on the Brakes. Kit includes new ISO grips. I seen it in the new 2010 Dennis Kirk catalog on pg 704, part #19-00247 $179.
One thing I wouldn't like about this is going up large hills the bike would slow down and speed up going down hill. I would think when riding on relatively level roads it will work pretty good. I would love to have cruse control on long rides.
Has any one got this kind/? if not what do you think of this?...Thanks.

I don't have it. I've never used cruise control on a bike. For what this particular device does (based on your description) you'd do just as well to use the "star screw" on the bottom of your right switch housing. It will hold your throttle at whatever position you set it, but it doesn't monitor your speed and doesn't make adjustments to keep you at a constant. So like you said, going up hill you'll slow down. For $200 bucks? Not for me.

I'd go with the cruise buddy for half the price. It will do the same job except for disengage with the brakes...but it doesn't take as many turns to lock in as the star screw because of a cam mechanism.

Thanks for the advice.
I did find a guy that has this on his bike and he loves it. He thinks it's the best bang for the buck. He said it will go up and down in speeds on larger hills but most of the time it's no big deal. He said the one thing he likes the most that unlike the stock tensioner that made him feel unsafe about a emergency stop, with the Kuryakyn cruse he just taps the brake or the off button and it gos off insistently. He said he feels a lot safer with this one on. He did point out that it comes with the ISO grips that are about $80 by them self so the price really isn't that bad.
Man he makes it sound pretty good.
I'm in Michigan so I'm in no hurry, so I think I will just keep looking for more people that might have this control...Thanks.

I have the ISO grips and I love them. They are worth buying. I have the throttle boss that works the the ISO grips and I really like it.

I have used a thumb screw and it was o.k., but a bit of a pain if you are wearing gloves.

I had the dealer add the HD cruise control to my current bike before I picked it up. I like it, but it was about $350 installed (I got a discount on the parts).

Once you have a bike with real cruise control, it's really hard to imagine going back to a bike without it....at least if you like touring like I do. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/yes.gif)

After a lot of research one problem with the Kuryakyn cruise is it has exposed wires that are hard to hide on the handlebars. So I think I will go with something different.

Maybe it's just me, but you gotta put your hand someplace! I guess if I was riding a long way and wanted to put my right hand in my pocket or something it would be useful. Rarely use the cruise control in the Lincoln or the Bird. Vesta hasn't used it on her Trike. Guess on the ride back from Zion, I could have picked my nose with my right hand, kind of awkward using my left all the time. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hysterical.gif)

I would say the same for heated grips ...

as far as cruise ... it is for the "fancy bikes" ... kind of like radios as well ...

back in the 70's there was an after market cruise control that worked real well, it was simple and fitted between the grip and the sleve that holds the throttle cable. it was simple , your thumb pushed down on the lever and it locked the throttle you pushed up on the lever and the trottle unlocked. If i remember right some politician ruled it unsafe and it passed into history.
I think it cost 23.00 dollars , I used it on a honda cx 500 and never had any trouble with it.

you do have to be alert with cruise on....it's easy to go into a curve a little hot and then have the cruise suddenly accelerate...but I love the cruise on a long ride
