I need your opinions .
My 2007 Ultra , bought in Oct of 06 . currently has only 8800 miles . My extended warranty that I had purchased originally will expire in about 3 months... Im on the fence about purchasing a NEW extended warranty because as you can see, I hardly ride the bike.. I use the Bike Mostly for Road trips and seldom to ride around town... I may take 3-4 road trips a year averaging about 1,000 miles per trip. So my dilema is should I BUY THE EXTENDED Warranty.? Its $1500 for another 2 years... I really dont have that money and would probably put it on credit and pay it off little by little until I can pay it off completely.. Although I dont ride much, my thoughts are that NOW comes the time when my bike will start to have problems.... so I can compare, what types of repairs do you foresee in the horizon for me and what are their costs..? I dont ride hard at all. I baby this bike. Its really a cream puff..... Thanks guys |

Every extended warranty I have purchased has paid for itself. The last time the Lincoln electronic toneau cover went inop, WOULD have cost me $1800. In 07 the compensator nut backed off and ate my rotor/stator in my 03 Wide Glide. Glad I had that 5 year extended warranty. Also paid for a Starter. BUT, I'm guessing SOMEONE is buying the warranty and not using it, or they wouldn't be offering it.
The warranty has already bought me one vertical and a horizontal faring brace on my 08 E-Glide. It will buy me the other vertical brace when I take the bike back in. |

Screwy But the miles you put on compared to the ones I put on are like comparing a hot dog eating contest between Jaba The Hut and PeeWee Herman. ok I know the anology sucked but thats all I can come up with on the spur of the moment... so what kind of normal wear & tear occurs after 10,000 miles on a tourer ..??
my starter maybe..? how much would it cost me out of pocket w/o warranty.? I read alot about tha stator going bad... what the hell is a stator..? |

I've had 3 of the 4 faring braces crack. The Horizontal ones are cheap, the big vertical ones are about 45 bucks. They replaced the clutch cable, the sheath was leaking. No problems with the throttle by wire (so far). I'm on my third set of tires. Just put the 3rd set on. The rotor and stator are your charging system.
